Greetings Christian Friends!
The Antioch Baptist Church Missionary Ministry, with the consent of the Antioch Joint Board, is supporting Girl Scout Troop 5499, of which Aaliyah Peyton is an active member. Girl Scout Troop 5499 is requesting your sponsorship with their Silver & Gold Award Project, "Operation Fill-A-Box." The Troop will be preparing 500 care boxes to give to the King George community of men, women and children.
The Missionary Ministry request that members of Antioch donate the items listed below to support Troop 5499's efforts. You may deliver the items to Mrs. Ursula Holmes located at 12008 Canterbury Drive, King George, VA. Please place the items in the drop box on her front porch on or before 12 Noon, March 18, 2021. If you are unable to purchase items, you can make monetary donations payable to, "Antioch Baptist Church." Please add the phrase "GS Care Box" to the check comment line and mail to: Antioch Baptist Church, P.O. Box 36, King George, VA . Members may also make electronic donations using the church website and Facebook page. Please select the "Girl Scout Care Box" donation type.
If you need assistance transporting the items, have questions or comments, please contact Mrs. Holmes at 540/413-6114. The Deacons, Deaconess and Trustees have volunteers to assist her with this project.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Trustee Aubrey Bland
The church building is closed but the spiritual church is still functioning. Pastor Finch posts a weekly sermon to Facebook each Sunday. Pastor Finch, Deacons, Deaconesses, Trustees and Missionaries are standing by to support the members of Antioch whenever possible. Members should inform the Pastor and the chairman of the Deacons if:
There is an update to the Sick and Shut-in list
There is an update to the prayer list
A member experiences a severe financial need such as a loss of job or reduction in work hours making it difficult to pay bills/rent.
Closure of the church building places a financial burden on Antioch, because the church operating costs are reduced but not eliminated. The Trustees have done everything possible to reduce costs such as lowering the thermostat; however, the church continues to incur costs for utilities, maintenance and salaries. The trustees of Antioch Baptist Church request that members financially support Antioch during the shutdown, if the members' financial circumstances permit.
